Susun Weed, pt. 3 of 5

This comment left on the pt. 3 YouTube video of Susun Weed, was too interesting to leave behind:
"Robert Hooke (English scientist 1635-1703) is recorded as the first person to build a compound microscope. Anton van Leeuwenhoek (Dutch cloth merchant1632-1723) made improvements to that microscope and was the first person to report living, single celled organisms. Sounds like Susun is referring to Leeuwenhoek. Once he discovered that there were microbes everywhere, he became obsessed with looking at everything he could get his hands on and describing with wonder and delight his observations."
